Jain Books and Literature in English

Traditionally, Jain books and literature, including Jain stories in Hindi, Sanskrit and Gujarati languages, have been one of the most prominent mediums of imbibing Jain values and culture among children, teenagers and adults of Jain religion. Despite having available millions of pages of such literature, the new generation which is now mostly educated in English medium, finds it difficult to connect themselves with Jain values and culture and the essence of Jainism due to language barrier.

Now, a large number of youngsters and adults also have migrated to the western countries for studying in English medium schools and other institutions as well as for better career and business opportunities. The increased mobility, materialism and pursuit of money and higher status in society have drifted mostly our children and youngsters towards modern culture, lust and luxury which is considered a vice. It is high time now to cultivate the Jain culture and values in the younger generation of the society, because they have to carry forward these values and culture to the next generation in the time to come. Jain books and literature based on the preaching of Jain Tirthankars and Jain Gurus will surely play a great role in connecting our kids and youths to their roots in Jain values and culture, as these books are now easily available in the language which this young generation understands.

This online platform is a humble effort to connect our new generation with the Jain principles and values and right path shown by our 24 Tirthankars and Jain gurus and develop the character of kids, teenagers and adults to make them perfect human beings by means of providing Jain books in English language for their better understanding of Jainism.

OBJECTIVES

To develop Jain values and culture among children in the age group 5 to 12 years and teenagers with the help of pictorial Jain books in English.
To promote Jain religion, culture and knowledge related to Jainism and to develop better understanding of the Jain religion among children and adults.
To promote non-violence, vegetarianism, respecting parents & elders and other basic principles of Jainism through interesting characters of Jain story books in English language.
To create awareness and ensure easy availability of such Jain English books to keep Jain religion and culture alive in each and every corner of the globe.
